Not to Disappear explores the sonic topography around the Wettstein Bridge in Basel, close to the River Rhine. We move as a group, following a performer carrying a voice, paper, six mini guitar amps and two tape players, to activate the architecture and sites around us. The audience is invited to tune into the urban landscape and its echoes and sounds, whether actively proposed or passively present.
Listening Invitations
[LOW] close and open your ears with your hands several times. Walk silently for a moment. Do you feel any vibrations?
[CLOSE] are there any sounds you normally ignore? Which sound is pleasant, which disturbing?
[FAR] which specific sound would you like to send on a journey on the river Rhine? To be heard by others, shared by others?
