Ecotone Studies is a nomadic collaborative project initiated in 2023. It observes the fragile balance in the ecotone, a term borrowed from ecology, to describe the overlapping of different vegetation zones. It invites thinkers, artists, activists, researchers and members of the community to contribute, using the ecotone metaphor as a starting point for exchanging experiences and perspectives.

It draws on the inspiration from transitions such as the interface between land and river, the wild and the urban, human and non-human (infra)structures and overheard species in the midst of a partly untamed blue city area. #2 Elastic Terrae – Publication, Riso Print, 50 editions 2025. Elastic Terrae offers a scrutinising tool in search for untamed places. It is an extended, poetic glossary to think with zones of ambiguity, in search for soft environments - an invitation to work with imagination in undisciplined, porous spaces.
